Siemens Digital Experience Center

Six different digital twin story lines

To reinforce the meaning and importance of digital transformation, Siemens wanted to build an immersive experience centre to tell the story of the concept of Industry 4.0 and the digital twin. A digital twin is a virtual duplicate of a product, machine, process or entire production facility that contains all the data and simulation models relevant to the original.

For this project, we partnered with Succesmakers to create this beautiful experience center.

The road to an experience center

Many innovative digital solutions in Industry 4.0 or Smart Industry are still under development and are also difficult to express in words. The experience at Siemens became a unique combination of the virtual world, the real world and a state-of-the-art experience center. We created a hologram based on Siemens’ own digital twin concept: a digital expert who personally shows visitors round and shares knowledge.

Hyperpersonalisation

The tour of the experience center is personalised by segment or vertical. The projections and scope of the displayed content differs according to the vertical market in which the visitor operates. This distinction is reflected in all content throughout the experience center: from floor projection at the reception to the presentation displayed in the theatre space.

Hologram ‘Digit’

In the penultimate room, we actually see a mixing and production machine to give an impression of what machine performance looks like in an operational environment. Of course, the guide’s narration in this section is supported by lighting and audio effects, and the virtual guide provides further explanation via a wall display.

Multifunctional room

The tour leads past a multifunctional room that can be used as a collaboration space. This room contains three large U-shaped projection walls on which any desired content can be projected. All three walls are equipped with touch functionality.

"The end result exceeds our expectations. Everything is right, from lighting down to the smallest audio effect. The AV blends in with the furniture, designed entirely according to our corporate identity. First Impression took care of everything: from concept and design to content and technical implementation, as well as support."
